Forest of Columns • A Digital Rainbow Hologram

UofT 2018, IVP210 Holography for 3D Visualization | Instructor: Dr. Emanuel Istrate | Individual Project

Why

With a giant canopy supported by a grid of columns, the “FOREST OF COLUMNS” aims to create spatial complexity with simple geometric elements. The mysterious and diverse experience of deep space is illustrated on a flat medium through holography.

How

The 10x10 column grid with the radius of the columns changing from the front to the back is covered by a giant square canopy. Simple architectural elements create spatial complexity when viewed from one side to the other with the columns changing relative to the viewer's position.
